Keith, Matthew W, Henry, John, James T, Vaughan, James S, Mick, Richard, Annie Q, Brian, Tim, Lucy, Dominic + Lee and Val used electric and acoustic guitars and basses, saz, balalaika, dan bau, alto saxophone, flute, voices, bells, percussion, bowed electric guitar, mbira, xylophone, Roland Samplepad, mandolin, harmonica, piano, keyboard, electronics, water, various iPhone apps, teaspoons, teacups, teapots and possibly some other things too. Passing vehicles and pedestrians are also audible in places. Everything was entirely improvised and recorded to a single microphone. Tracks 7 and 9 involve simple crossfades of pieces from two different dates. Tracks have been been subjected to minimal digital processing. The section spoken by James T at the end of track 9 ("...black seas of infinity...") is apparently from H.P. Lovecraft, rather than his own poetry.

Recorded at St. Mary Arches (1-3 and 6-9), St. Stephens churches (4-5), Exeter and Vaughan's barn, near Newton St. Cyres (10) on 27/07/09 [1,8], 06/05/09 [2,9a], 28/01/09 [3], 22/09/09 [4], 24/02/09 [5], 04/11/09 [6,7b,9b], 01/12/09 [7a] and 20/05/09 [10].

File names encode recording information, as follows: "010605-t1x2-2130to2412.mp3" would be excerpt 2 from track 1 (running from 21:30 to 24:12 of that track) recorded during the session on 1st June 2005.

Subject: Great work
Indeed, really great work, consisting of a mix of acoustic instruments and electronic devices. A blend of improvised and meditative folk music and transcendic space (folk) music tunes. One of the best ones I have listened to in my whole life.
